Taiwan Visit – Academia Sinica (29 May 2024)

On May 29, 2024, Asst. Prof. Narisorn Kitiyanant, D.V.M., Ph.D., Deputy Director for Administration, along with a team from the Institute of Molecular Biosciences at Mahidol University, visited Academia Sinica in Taipei, Taiwan, to enhance academic cooperation between the two institutions.
The MB delegation was warmly welcomed by Prof. Tzu-Ching Meng, Director of the Department of International Affairs, Dr. Kuo-Chiang Hsia, representative of the Institute of Molecular Biology, and Dr. Dennis W. Hwang, representative of the Institute of Biomedical Sciences. The discussions focused on developing a more concrete and effective collaboration, building on the previous university-level agreements.

During the visit, the MB team toured the laboratories and research facilities of the Institute of Molecular Biology and the Institute of Biomedical Sciences, both of which share similar research interests with the Institute of Molecular Biosciences. Additionally, the Department of International Affairs hosted a luncheon, providing an opportunity to discuss future prospects for student and staff exchanges for research at Academia Sinica.

This visit marks a significant step in strengthening the academic relationship between Mahidol University’s Institute of Molecular Biosciences and Academia Sinica, paving the way for new collaborative research opportunities in the future.
